Fântânele–Cogealac — Wind Turbines & Open Landscapes

Set across the open countryside of Constanța County, in Romania’s Dobrogea region, the Fântânele–Cogealac wind farm combines large-scale energy infrastructure with expansive rural landscapes. Its 240 turbines have a combined installed capacity of 600 MW.

Developed originally for the ČEZ Group, the wind farm became part of PPC Renewables Romania’s portfolio in 2024.

For filmmakers, the location offers repeating turbine silhouettes, broad horizons and strong contrasts between agricultural land and industrial structures. Different viewpoints can emphasise the scale of individual turbines or the rhythm of multiple rows extending across the landscape.

These settings offer possibilities for energy and technology stories, documentaries, commercials and contemporary fiction. The appearance of the fields, available light and turbine movement will vary with the season, weather and operating conditions.

This is an operational energy facility. Filming positions, vehicle access, equipment placement and any work near turbines require advance coordination with the operator. Safety distances, site induction, protective equipment and operational restrictions must be confirmed for the proposed activity. Drone filming and access inside turbines require separate assessment and approval.
